With a message from Rodney Brown |May 2014
Health care organizations, businesses, schools and government entities demand great technology, value added services and exceptional support. HealthNet connect|BroadNet connect are committed to all three. I will use this update to give a high-level overview of some of our business development and technology initiatives.
Please share this information with your team and other partners.
HealthNet connect|BroadNet connect Charts Path for 2014 and Beyond!
In our planning session late last year the HNc|BNc team developed the areas we would focus on over the next few years. We landed on three initiatives that we will continue to drive: Telehealth, Expansion and Products/Services.
Through our Telehealth initiative we will continue to team with our partners within UnityPoint Health to coordinate and standardize processes and technology. Over the next 60-90 days we will see a pilot focused on Telepsych using video technology in the Waterloo region and a Telehealth Kiosk set-up in one of our corporate locations for employees to see a provider virtually. We will take the processes and workflows from these pilots, scale them to other regions, add other specialties and expand into the business market.
We will also kick-off our multi-million dollar, multi-year expansion project through the Healthcare Connect Fund grant. Through this grant we will expand our network into Nebraska, Western Illinois and Wisconsin. I am happy to announce that the following Health Care Providers have signed contracts with HealthNet connect to participate in the first phase of this project: Nebraska Medical Center, Bryan Medical Center East, Beatrice Medical Center, Faith Regional Health Services, Columbus Community Hospital, Fremont Area Medical Center, Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Mary Lanning Healthcare and Shenandoah Medical Center (Shenandoah, IA). In addition, Hammond Henry Hospital and Community Care Clinics (5 FQHC clinics) in Western Illinois have also signed agreements. We would like to welcome the Nebraska and Illinois Health Care Providers to the HealthNet connect family.
Finally, as we continue to expand our portfolio of products and services, we have moved beyond just providing broadband capabilities. We now offer services in areas such as cloud technology, unified communications and IT support services. We will continue to review and add to our portfolio based off feedback from our clients and our own assessment of leading edge communication and IT services. Our goal is this area is to ensure the clients of HealthNet connect|BroadNet connect can benefit from, in the most cost effective manner, the same technologies normally only afforded to large enterprises.
I’m excited about the direction we are headed. The only reason we exist is to create tremendous value for our current and future clients.
HealthNet connect 2014 Conference
The 2014 HealthNet connect conference was held on May 7th in West Des Moines, Iowa with opening comments from Bill Leaver, President and CEO of UnityPoint Health
and a keynote from Dr. Alan Kaplan, President and CEO of UnityPoint Clinic and Chief Medical Officer for UnityPoint Health. Attendees came from across the state of Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska. The conference included presentations on topics including telehealth, managed services, cloud services, and hosted VoIP. Vendors such as MDLive, Cisco, and Microsoft along with our own HealthNet connect discussed an array of exciting services, innovations, and opportunities for the attendees.
Those in attendance welcomed the chance to learn more about available services from HNc and network with their peers during the event.
Thank you to all who attended and made our 2014 conference a success!
We are excited to announce Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, IA as a new participant in HealthNet connect! Heather Cain, CEO, signed an IT Managed Services contract in March of this year with HealthNet connect to provide a managed IT services program to bring affordable proactive IT management and support to her hospital and two clinics. We’ve been very successful in helping prepare the IT environment for EPIC Go-Live and bringing systems and policies up to standard. Partnering with HealthNet connect will save Stewart Memorial Hospital time and money through better use of appropriate technologies, as well as resources. We value our partnership with Stewart Memorial Hospital and look forward to providing best in class solutions and support to fit their needs today and provide them the scalability they will need in the future.
